The Pink City

C
Jaipur Observatory-Jantar Mantar

Ahh...McDonalds-a universal language

We got into Jaipur yesterday afternoon and met our guide Pushpin (That isn't the correct spelling I am sure). We were HUNGRY, especially the kids and we broke down and went to McDonalds. Pathetic, right? It had to be done...and Doug grilled our guide trying to find "an upscale American restaurant like T.G.I.Fridays, or Applebees". It made me laugh so hard. There is nothing like that to be found. Doug tried to persuade me to eat at McDonalds too, but I didn't break. We found a really good Indian restaurant and had the kids bring their food in. I am not going to lie though, tomorrow I might not be so strong.
We toured the Jaipur City Palace and a large observatory built 400 years ago with huge sundials and instruments the used to tell time and dates. Pretty interesting. Saw another puppet show after dinner in the hotel, I guess those are pretty common...I was much more excited to see it the first time, and it didn't help that the show and puppets were just the same--but we all still liked it.
